Customer Reviews:
Mostly good device – let down by very poor base maps
First, the pictures above are a collage from all the various base maps. This unit can not show the 3D images and has little detail.
First impressions after one day of use. The screen is good and the back-light makes it very readable at night. Fine without the back-light in the day. The menu wheel/push button/rockers are easy to use, After a few minutes of use. It’s just a case of pressing one of the menu buttons and selecting the appropriate item. Normally the wheel is the zoom control.
Calibrating the compass and altimeter was easy. And easy to find. All the setup seemed easy.
The geocaching works well with the built in compass.
I checked the navigation marks on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. They seemed right, from memory, but the map detail is inadequate to be certain. They certainly don’t show the whole picture, they miss shoal detail which is absolutely essential if anyone were going to trust this as their main navigation.
In general the built in map is poor. It has little detail, few roads, few geographical features. Not enough detail in the lakes to know for sure that you are looking at the right islands.
The supplied CD shows even less detail than the preloaded base map. Useless. It’s just a questionable tool for managing trips and waypoints, it says. They really should have supplied a better map with a $600 GPS. I expect they hope to rip-off the early adopters and then include the topo maps as a package later.
The geocaching site allows you to transfer direct to the connected GPS, including the descriptions if you paid the subscription to the site. Useful. But it would be a lot more useful if the map was any good.
All in all, good product badly let down by bad maps. If the maps had been any use I’d have given it 4 or 5 stars. But what’s the use of a GPS that can’t tell you where the there you are at is on a map?
While the GPS is made in Taiwan the case and all else that I ordered with it, all Garmin, are made in China.
Garmin GPS Review
In the GPS realm, in my opinion their are only two companies to consider, they are Lowrance Electronics and Garmin. Upon a close review of available products, the Garmin wins hands down because the 400i Colorado has all of the cadilac features of those of the Lowrance Endura products but at a price that will shock you. Both the Lowrance Endura GPS and Garmin Colorado 400i GPS lines retail around $500 from the factory and their foo foo outlets. Thru this site, you will find you can purchase a Garmin Colorado 400i for $312. and get the product in less than a week. The Garmin has capability for easy downloading of topo maps and even turn by turn directions while driving. This is my third GPS unit over a period of the last 15 years and it is by far the easiest to use. I highly recommend it to all.
Use The High Capacity Batteries
This unit is basically the same at the Colorado 400t, with a different preloaded map set. In the reviews for the 400t some folks have mentioned that the battery life is a tad short. Others have suggested using high capacity batteries. Both opinions are accurate. I like to use rechargeables and I have tested Duracell NiMH with an 1800 mAh rating, Sony NiMH with a 2500 mAh rating, and Duracell NiMH with a 2650 NiMN. I turned on the receiver, left the back light on the low setting, and checked it periodically, noting when each set failed. Obviously this is an approximation and I won’t report the details but there was a significant improvement with each step up in mAh. It was measured in hours, not minutes. I wish that the unit ran longer on a set, that is a fact, but I will just carry spare high capacity batteries. I have not used this in the field but have practiced with it extensively here in my home area. So far it is a great unit, better than my old Magellan. The technology has improved over the years.

Great powerfull little titan laptop
Well, it has been almost a month since I bought my T135 and I can say I love this little Titan.
Pros:
-LIGHTWEIGHT
-Powerful. With Windows 7 64 edition, I can get as much performance as a my other Core 2 Duo Toshiba Sattellite A135 laptop.
- I can get 9 hours plus of battery life (Eco Mode). As per the other person stating that he can get only 4 hours of battery life, that is in full power mode. Try to get 4 hours of battery life at full power from any other machine and you will fail miserably
- Great Graphics
- Great sound if you do the following:
Go to Control Panel
Select SMART AUDIO
On the lower part, select SMART EQ/3D SETTINGS
Select CUSTOM
Pull the buttons up (i have them still at number 7 (from out of 15), quite enough as you will see)
Enjoy AWESOME volume!!!
- Wifi 802.11N!!! I mean, I an get my 802.11N signal from some 200 meters in my garden!!!
- Gorgeous looks
-FAST, FAST, FAST
I have edited video and music (iTunes and a couple of DVD rippers) and it does them in a copule of minutes
- IT’S a TOSHIBA!!!!
- Video conferencing (Skype and Messenger) it’s really good, although the camera it’s only 1.3 megapixels
- After 10 hours of use, at full power, it barely gets warm. You can put it on your bag right away
- Ultra Low Voltage means Ultra Low Energy Consumption. I mean guys, we have to be environmentally conscious. This babe just uses 19V of energy at full power, down to 8-10 Volts at Eco Mode.
NEUTRAL
- I hate on every laptop (no matter what brand) the touch pads. I always use an external mouse.
CONS
- You can do a fingerprint exam on the laptop. I do not know why it gets so finger dirty (and believe me, I wash my hands very often). I bought a GelySkin for the exterior and it’s a great add-on
Hope this review is usefull
How to fix your Toshiba T135 touchpad
Firstly, definitely fix your sound setup as per JMesa’s descrition.
[Also, JMesa, the units of power are Watts (W) not Volts (V), but
your numbers are otherwise correct.]
The quite miserable Touchpad response can be fixed in the following
manner. But please note that doing this will also lose the zoom and
rotate capability built into the as delivered Touchpad driver. I do
computer graphics and the tradoff of a far more usable Touchpad with
no rotate and zoom was well worth the switch. Perform the following
selections:
Start
Control Panel
Hardware and Sound
Device Manager (under Devices and Printers)
Mice and Other Pointing Devices
OK, from here on I cannot provide the exact names because having
already done this change the names are no longer available in the
menues for viewing.
Select the Touchpad and then the Touchpad Driver and then Delete it.
You will receive a warning but continue with the deletion. Then you
will have to reboot one or more times as Windows 7 detects the lack
of a Touchpad driver and simply installs its own driver. The Windows
7 Touchpad driver is more user friendly than what Toshiba provided,
but it does lack the rotate and zoom that very few would use anyway.
I bought this laptop for my spouse and she likes it after I fixed the
sound and Touchpad. It does have a really long operating time on the
battery when you set it up for minimal power usage.
Very attractive and useful with one limitation
Very sleek and beautiful LIGHT notebook, but you’ll need the external optical drive for $60 more. I was impressed with the quality and ‘Maciness’ of this baby, especially in the white which is just beautiful and allows you to see the keys better in a darkened room. The Core 2 Duo speed, bluetooth, webcam are all plusses. The one drawback I see is that I and the reviewers at Bestbuy find the touchpad to be clunky, grainy with the mouse harder to finely control and the buttons too narrow but unresponsive. You have to concentrate on touching them on the very end where leverage is better and your fingers won’t get worn out. All in all, gorgeous to look at, lug around and mostly use. I found the touchpad clunky and rough compared to my Dell so I gave this only 3 stars. An inexpensive external USB mouse would solve this problem.
Also, it says Windows 7 Professional or higher is required to run legacy apps in the special XP emulator mode–however it runs the 16-bit Norton Filemanager which can set a filespec and branch directories just fine!

Klipsch RF-83, an awesome sounding speaker ! ! !
I purchased my pair of Klipsch RF-83 Speakers approx. 1 year ago and shortly after wards noticed a very small indentation when the lighting was directed towards the speakers in a particular angle. I contacted the Klipsch Company and without hesitation they shipped and paid all expenses of the shipping and also the return of the speaker with the very small indentation. Afterwards Klipsch consumer relations department kept in close contact with concern that I was satisfied with everything else pertaining with my purchase of my Klipsch speakers. The deep rich quality of the highs and lows that these speakers produce is nothing short of incredible. I can either turn the volume very low or direct most of the power from my 130 watts per channel onkyo receiver with no distortion or loss of sound quality, in short these speakers are an awesome investment, and I’m completely satisfied with their performance that exceed my expectations that I would expect from the Klipsch Company.
I am glad I bought these speakers
These speakers are replacing some I have had since 1979, I have had the RF-83s for about a month and I am very pleased with them.
The soundstage is deep and the imaging is excellent.
Plus you don’t have to sit in a ’sweet spot’ to get the good sound.
There are details in the instrument’s sound that I have not been able to pick out before.
Initially I was listening to the speakers instead of the music and these speakers are very easy to listen to.
Voices sound natural and the bass is well defined and deep.
The sound of these speakers is rich, full, and very satisfying.
You may see people write that horn tweeters are bright or harsh and cause listening fatigue on other review sites or forums … all I have to say about that is they have not heard these speakers.
In movies I can hear each sound individually instead of it becoming just a loud undefined crash. For example in the movie I Robot when Will Smith is in the house that the demo bot tears down there is a scene where the floor falls and all kinds of debris is sliding down along with Smith and the cat.
I never noticed that this was not just a big crashing noise before, but in this busy scene these speakers keep all those sounds organized and you can hear the individual pieces as they slide down and bump into one another.
Not sure what else to say, if you are looking at speakers in this price class these are certainly worth the time to listen to.
A Worthy Speaker Choice
I have had these speakers for 8 months now and remain very impressed. I traded some Tannoys which were a bit colored and have not regretted the switch. The Tannoys were good but after 10 years I needed a change.
These speakers are clear and have very low distortion. There is no harshness at all from good recordings. I have juggled amps and find my Onkyo gives the best result. I have another amp and get a somewhat thin presentation. So keep in mind this product mirrors the electronic source very faithfully.
Bass is very powerful and extended. The highs are not forward and are accurate. In short, the RF-83s will satisfy audio snobs like myself who also have a limited budget. My digital source is a Sony blu-ray player so I clearly don’t use high end stuff all the way through.
If you are interested in modern Klipsch technology go to a shop and give these speakers listen.

- 25 watts x 5 and 50 watts for subwoofer
- Gloss Piano Black Finish
- A simple solution for your flat panel audio
Customer Reviews:
Nice, but can’t change the laws of physics. Also one big design issue.
I purchased the DHT-FS3 hoping not so much for a 5.1 sound-alike experience but simply hoping for a good “TV speaker replacement” system. Unfortunately, while the Denon is the best sounding system of its type, it simply wasn’t to be for my application.
First, the size of the unit is a bit larger in some ways that one would expect and smaller than others. Denon obviously designed the unit to fit in front of a flat screen TV, as they thoughtfully provided feet that are widely spaced (about 20″) so that the unit can straddle the front of most TV manufacturer’s flat screen pedestals. But it’s also wider than one might expect – it’s wider than a 16:9 32″ TV, but a bit narrower than a 37″.
The sound is GOOD, but not great. At no time will you think you’re in front of not only a 5.1 surround system but even a decent stereo system using bookshelf loudspeakers; however it does sound better than any built-in TV speakers could, and it outdoes most “mini” systems as well, likely including offerings such as Denon’s own S-101 HTIB system. Like most such systems, the bass is a bit “thumpy” – the sub just doesn’t integrate well with the satellites and crosses over fairly high – around 125-150 Hz – so you never lose sight of the fact that most of your sound is coming from “up there” but the bass notes are coming from “down there.”
The unit has multiple inputs – two sets of RCAs for analog, including one set that can be used with one of Denon’s iPod docks, two optical digital and one coaxial digital. The setup has many nice features, including distance to the listener, bass/treble (unlike Bose systems, but here the adjustments are in fairly large 2dB increments) and a nice universal remote to control your TV, DVD player and the speaker unit. It can play in straight stereo, “wide” surround, Dolby Digital or even DTS, and all sound reasonably good for this application.
The design flaw? While not Denon’s fault, most every flat panel TV manufacturer puts the sensor for their remote control along the bottom of the TV, meaning if the Denon’s sitting in front of the TV, I can just about guarantee it will be blocking the TV’s remote sensor unless you’re using it with a larger set (40″ or more) and the sensor’s in the corner, or your TV somewhat more intelligently placed the sensor along the TV’s sides or top frame.
I don’t mean to come across as overly harsh, but I really had high hopes for a product like this from Denon, and sound-wise it really didn’t sound as good as I thought it would. That’s not really their fault; you can only do so much with smaller drivers in a rather small enclosure. But on the other hand, it does do a better job of producing a virtual surround effect than any TV’s built-in surround effect (e.g. “SRS”) or the similar Yamaha Sound Projectors.
So in short, it’s worth a try if you’re looking for a product like this, but the fact that it would block my TV’s IR sensor immediately made it a non-starter for me as soon as I removed it from its box. Perhaps in a future model Denon can thoughtfully provide an “IR blaster” on the back of the unit to automatically repeat IR signals it sees to any TV sensors that may be located behind it.
It’s truly a beautiful LOOKING unit, the piano black finish blending nicely with the similar finish used on most flat panels that don’t use a silvery frame. It’s certainly a reasonable value for the price, given what it would cost to build a similar quality system for components or find as high quality a HTIB (“Home Theatre in a Box”) system.
However, for the sole reason that it blocks my TV’s remote sensor, I’ve no alternate place to place it, and it neither has an IR blaster nor provision to drive one, it’s back in its shipping box just about three hours after first opening it.
Great product, poor customer service.
The Denon DHT-FS3 is a great surround sound compliment to a small room that doesn’t allow many speakers and wires. In addition, it’s the perfect solution for a large plasma television. The sound enhancement is fantastic and the sleak design is impressive. The downside is it’s a littly pricey.
I must mention, however, that the customer service is absolutely terrible. I’m not sure if it was the holiday rush or the fact that they want to sell only to dealers, but my experience was less than impressive. I tried at least 10 times to speak live with a customer service support without success. I went so far as to leave two messages at the Denon corporate office for the customer service manager and other executives, but never received a return call.
Bottom line, the product is good but don’t plan for any support. I was a first time and last time Denon customer with my purchase of the DHT-FS3.
good simple htib system
The Good: looks great with black piano finish
easy setup with few wires
simple operation
excellent sound
can be mounted or just place on enclosed cradle in front of tv
The Bad: not much surround sound, you will hear some sounds coming at you
from the sides, but no rear sound detection.
on some tvs the remote sensor could be covered by the bar, be
sure and measure the height of your sensor.
expensive
Overall: very good sound, easy setup and operation, would be hard to
beat the quality of this if you want to avoid wires and other
complications of a true 5.1 system.
From the Manufacturer
The Denon DHT-FS3 Home Theater in a Box is a two-piece, compact and simple solution for home theater surround sound designed to mount below or on top the television for proper sound distribution. The high-gloss ebony finish subwoofer can be placed easily on the floor, below or beside your television. Dolby and DTS decoders, along with the new X-Space technology, deliver exceptional, spatial surround sound. The system comes supplied with an IR wireless remote control designed for easy use and comes preprogrammed with IR codes to operate other brand devices.
The Denon DHT-FS3 Home Theater in a Box slim design enables easy placement in front of a TV

Customer Reviews:
FORGET THE CNET REVIEW, GREAT SET!!! NOT SO ON WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY Like a previous poster I was very concerned about the not too good CNET review, but bought anyway based upon my son’s recommendation. I am very satisfied with what I’ve seen so far. It compares very favorably with my Sony Bravia that I paid considerably more for than the Aqous.
Set has excellent sound and provides very good audio output for surround system. The picture, onced adjusted away from the factory settings, is very vivid with great colors.
One caution to anyone ordering who might not be physcically able to lift a 51 pound tv set, the stand for the set must be assembled and attached to the set.
The “White Glove” delivery guys will not do it for you. They also will not connect any equipment (cable box, dvd, sat box, etc.) to the set. So, be prepared to have else available to do those things on delivery day.
All things considered, I’d do it again.
Good Tevevision, Terrible Customer Service, Defect I ordered Sharp Aquos LC46D85U on 12/23/08 by Amazon.com and received it on 01/02/09. PROS: I mainly bought this television for gaming, animation, and as a home theater tv, let me tell you it didn’t disappoint. Gamemode actually works, I did a test with Super Smash Bros. Melee with composite cables there seem to be no lag in gamemode, with component cables it looks much better and there seems to be zero lag in any of the tv’s AV Mode. Unlike the Samsung I had, game mode didn’t work with either cables that is if you’re an advance player and you do all your “L-Canceling” with your f,b,u,d-air. I wanted to know how this tv will fair against a HTPC, so I connected it to one though via HDMI instead of VGA. I was testing HD out and the color was so bright and deep anime(720p) in HD is awesome!! 5 HDMI ports and 120Hz is a bonus, free blueray player is just a promotion, I would have bought this tv without it. YES YES picture quality! Digital Channel’s look great, analog is okay too. CONS: Unfortunately my tv came with a defect with the power supply. On the day I receive the television I was excited to give it a try, so I hooked it up tried turning it on it just wouldn’t turn on until 15 minutes or so. The tv works fine afterwards until you leave it OFF for a FEW HOURS , the same problem would occur. It wouldn’t turn on a ” cold start” so I decide to contact customer service. I emailed Amazon and waited 2-3 hours for a reply, I didn’t get one so I called them. It was rather difficult to understand because I was talking to someone living OUTSIDE of US, she only asked for my info it took quite awhile she finally tried to redirect me to someone who can help but she said they were off. I was very upset, the next day I received the email from AMAZON, they told me to contact SHARP first and have a “case number” with them. I called Sharp, their customer service was terrible they told me if the dispatcher comes and nothing is wrong with the tv I had to pay for service on a BRAND NEW TV. With the defect I had the dispatcher could have came and said nothing was wrong with it if he/she was able to turn it on. I was extremely upset at that point, but I decided to put up with it and continue this daunting chain. Dispatcher called me the next day, he was on his way but Sharp gave him incorrect address and info for both of his customers that day including myself. Only thing that was correct was my “case number” and my “cell number.” The dispatcher took my tv and told me he’ll have it fix within 3 days. Three days now, so I give him a call he told me the part was on backorder now this really upsets me, he told that he will contact the part he is ordering and call me back. Never called me back so I called back, turns out he didn’t even make the call, finally I was put on hold and he told me that the tv will be finish tomorrow. Hopefully it will be finish. CONCLUSION: I’ve been an Amazon customer for about 2 years now and have never been disappoint up until now. Amazon and Sharp’s customer service was not helpful. I don’t mind waiting a little, but calling and waiting for a response was very time consuming. Amazon should just arrange for a replacement, not make me contact Sharp first. 4 Stars for Tv’s quality minus 1 star for defect, but mainly for customer service from Amazon and Sharp. I apologize for the long compliant, but I’m extremely upset with customer service and had to make sure everyone knows. Although I recommend this television I don’t recommend buying it here as customer service was terrible. Good Television otherwise, amazing picture quality like some reviews have stated. Take my word if you have the money spend an extra hundred or two and buy it in stores. UPDATES: The power supply was replace on 01/09/09 as promised, but problem was not resolved. It was rechecked and delievered once again on the 01/12/09 but the problem was still occurring. He told me from day one that the problem could either be the power supply or control panel. So my local dispatcher replace the control panel board and delivered the television the next day. Everytime the dispatcher delivered the tv, he was always reassuring me that he will get it fix, if not Sharp will personally replace it. After a few days of testing the issue is finally RESOLVED on 01/13/09. The TV came back with some minor scratches (only visible up close) on the frame which doesn’t concern me and no visible scratches on the LCD. I was concern about the quality of the tv after repair, but I guess it still okay now. Sorry, this is not really a good review on the tv itself but just some issue you might encounter. FINAL COMMENTS: 2D fighting games seems to be lagless on ps2 with component cables, I’m pretty sure DDR and Guitar Hero will be lagless too. Cables Matter. Oh, I forgot to mention that yes this model has a 10 bit LCD panel. Not really sure what this is yet, but I’m pretty sure that it has something to do with the quality rather than a 8 bit panel. Thank you for your time!
Regards Diana
10 months now It’s a great set and I would compare it favorably to any Sony that my peers have. No problems thus far.

Customer Reviews:
TC=L32G1 2 thumbs up! Very nice picture and sound. I picked it up for $634. delivered. Sub vendor Beach Camera. Steal of a deal for the new model. The G1 has a very good screen format options. I can’t tell you how surprised I was at the sound. Many LCD’s have poor sound do to the hidden speakers. The price we pay for style. The speakers are placed at the bottom. Down firing. All in all love my purchase.
Con: 1.The warranty. If they can’t fix it over the phone you will have to carry it in or pay for the upgraded warranty. Larger models are in home service. 2. No Ipod dock like the x1 models. It would be nice to have the option to buy as a add on. (Can’t find any options for it) 3. (Maybe) No 1080p support for PC. 720p looks better when viewing standard cable. So this depends on your primary use. @ 32″ you can not discern the difference in viewing movies/TV. Only when using the computer. The text etc will look much cleaner. If you primarily use PC get the S1 model or spend the money for 37″G1.
* Very nice quality, Solid feel, nice style *
A great, inexpensive LCD TV without bells and whistles. This is an excellent deal no matter which way you look at it. For $465 with free shipping (Prime member) and no tax, this one is a no-brainer.
The picture is sharp – maybe not as sharp as its more expensive big brothers, but sharp enough for any casual TV viewer. Be sure to find the right picture format for your purposes (I like “justified”, although others with weaker eyesight might like “zoom”, while others may prefer the wide angle if they are avid HD video fans. There are enough picture features to adjust it to your liking, including extensive color settings and more. And to top it all, it’s just plain easy to adjust using the included remote.
One caveat: you may find the maximum volume setting a bit low when you first plug it in, and you might even turn the volume up to 100% or so in bigger rooms. But there is an easy fix: go into menu, then audio settings, and adjust the base audio level to max, then when you go back to your remote you’ll find you have enough volume/headroom to enjoy any movie with plenty to spare. I don’t need a 2.1 or 3.1 speaker system; it’s sound is good as it is. I’m an audiophile, but I just don’t see the need to spend money on an extra speaker system to match up with this inexpensive, but good, TV.
Assembly? What assembly. The only thing you need to assemble is the stand, which consists of four screws. Easy peasy.
This baby is plug and play – I had it up and running in under 15 minutes. It features a very intuitive settings format.
All in all, a great product at a ridiculous price. Highly recommended. If you just want a no frills LCD TV with HD, and you don’t plan to build a screening room or theater, this is the ticket. Get them while they last!
Agreed. Two thumbs up! I had been reviewing tv’s for months before purchasing this G1. At 549 shipped from Amazon, I jumped on it. I found many stores discontinuing this model and became nervous, but all doubt was removed when item arrived with in home set up. I feel this tv will make a great addition to my bedroom, but currently it is my main living room tv. The picture is great. Anything at or above 720 looks amazing, some things at 480 make me question if it is in fact higher. Contrast is very good, and I love that it has a 120Hz refresh rate. Any glare is what I would consider to be minimal (although better placement on my part would eliminate this all together). Speakers are fantastic (I do have an onkyo receiver and speakers that I no longer feel I have to use for EVERYTHING). Set up is straightforward and remote layout is pretty good. Also, although I have yet to have an opportunity to use the Vera Link, I think that will be a great feature. Although a little more pricey than others it this size I feel it is a great value for what it offers and was glad I made the decision to purchase this tv from Amazon rather than whatever was on sale at my local Walmart. If you are looking for a 32inch tv, I believe you will satisfied with this as well.
