AWESOME Projector![]()
I originally purchased this Projector because I was hosting a Windows 7 Launch Party and wanted to be able to do presentations and demonstrate the OS. I wanted a projector that would be able to project an image that will be bright enough to see even though the lights are turned on.
This projector is AMAZINGLY bright at 3000 Lumens!! On top of that it has so many different inputs that it accepts just about any video signal. To get component video you need a RGB to SVGA adaptor, but those can be picked up for around $15 to $30.
The quality of this image is AMAZING!! I was able to project an image on my 35′ Great room ceiling and it was still CLEAR!!! I am now using this projector in my home theater… it’s NOT 1080P… but rather 720… but still “high definition” none-the-less.
This projector is PERFECT for presentations… HOWEVER… be aware that you can’t really resize the image. The keystone only allows for a minor 15% correction angle. If you are projecting this on to a screen it’s going to take a LONG time to get the picture size correct… as the picture size changes only by moving the projector.
I built my theater around this projector so for me it wasn’t an issue. I mounted the projector then built the walls around it… used GOO for the screen… and it’s totally amazing!!
Again, if you already have a home theater… this is probably NOT the projector for you. I would suggest getting a projector that can adjust the image size… but for the price of this I couldn’t pass it up.
I went to Best Buy to compare Lumens… and the brightest that Best Buy had on display was only 1600 lumens… This bad boy is nearly twice as bright!! And the colors are AMAZINGLY vivid! The blacks are really dark… unlike almost all of the other projectors in this price range.
This projector is very quiet too… another huge plus when giving presentations (or watching tv/movie/PC videos).
Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this projector. This is a very HIGH QUALITY product. I’ve been using this projector for well over 6 months now… often 3 to 6 hours a day… and the bulb is still extremely bright. I researched projectors that varied from $1,000 all the way up to $12,000… and I chose this projector because it gives about the same quality as a projector in the $8,000 range. The only downfall is the inability to adjust the video size (Did I mention that before??? YES… It’s that important to keep mentioning)
Another nice thing about this projector which is AWESOME is that it only needs to be 4 Feet away from the wall/screen to project a 100 Inch Image!! That is HUGE!! My screen in my theater is about 10 Feet wide… and this projector is set back only about 5 feet or so… It’s amazing!
When you’re looking for a device to watch movies on… why pay much more for a 65″ plasma TV when you can buy this projector and make a 65″ plasma look TINY?? This is great value for the money… and I highly recommend this projector. I was a little weary of this at first because of the brand…. but Vivitek may be new to this market, but they are really putting out HIGH QUALITY projectors.
Because this is a short throw projector with a very bright bulb (3000 lumens) and amazing color output and a small price tag… I couldn’t not recommend it.
Great Projector, Poor Service![]()
This is a great projector and I’m happy that I bought it… I’m just not happy that I bought it from this retailer. No communication in the shipping process. It was delivered late. No communication from retailer after several attempts. Missing paperwork.
